The Kashmir Highway

I spent the summer of 2011 backing-packing through Northern India in the Ladakh and Leh regions. A predominantly buddhist area, this part of Kashmir is rich in Tibetan traditions that predate the modern geographical boundaries between India and China. The road to Leh was a 2 day winding adventure across the highest motor roads on earth and proved a glimpse into the communities that live, farm and worship along this rugged highway
